APPLETON – Voter confidence in the Democrat-controlled Congress is at an all-time low, according to a Rasmussen study.
The study goes on to say only 10 percent of voters feel Congress is doing an excellent job.
“The reason Congress is doing so poorly in the eyes of voters is because they are out of touch with their constituents,” said State Rep. Roger Roth, who is running for WI 8th District Congressional seat. “As I work in the 8th District, I talk to concerned voters everyday who feel Congress, and Mr. Kagen specifically, votes against their values. He is no conservative. Mr. Kagen agrees with the Democrat leader Nancy Pelosi 98 percent of the time.”
In the report, 63 percent of voters say the country would be better off if the incumbents were voted out of office in November. At least 70 percent say Congress has done nothing to improve their lives through recent legislation.
“It is time for politicians to put their constituents ahead of their careers,” said Roger Roth. “Our families and our country deserve better.”

Roth: Washington Claims Stimulus Act Working… Really?
February 18, 2010
APPLETON — Despite claims by Washington lawmakers that the year old, $787 billion dollar stimulus act is working, unemployment rates in Wisconsin’s 8th District are at an all-time high, and voters are waiting to hear the successes of this enormous bill.
“Unemployment rates in Wisconsin have increased in every county Mr. Kagen represents,” said state Assemblyman Roger Roth, an 8th District congressional candidate.
In fact, nine counties in the 8th District rank in the top 20 for having the highest unemployment rates in the state. This includes Menominee County, which ranks No. 1 for its 12 percent unemployment rate.
According to a February 10 article in the Green Bay Press Gazette, Rep. Kagen said “In Wisconsin, we do not reward failure.”
Responding to his quote Roth stated, “The people of Northeastern Wisconsin will decide if they should ‘reward’ Mr. Kagen’s ‘record of record spending’ this fall when they enter the voting booth.”
Roger Roth believes Steve Kagen has the wrong view of our government’s role.
“Mr. Kagen touts his ability to bring taxpayer money home from Washington,” Roth said. “I believe our next Congressman should keep the money here in the taxpayer’s pockets in the first place.”
A life-long resident of the Fox Valley, Roth resides in the Town of Grand Chute in Outagamie County. He is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and participates in his family’s construction business. His uncle is former Congressman Toby Roth.

Roger Roth: Kagen spins his Washington record
“The people of Wisconsin are fed up with politics as usual, and Mr. Kagen and the Washington politicians are one in the same,” said state representative Roger Roth, 8th congressional candidate.
In an attempt to separate himself from his actual record, Kagen released an email February 10, 2010 that stated, ‘Being fiscally responsible must begin somewhere, so let it start with me.’
In an election year that will see a focus on jobs, Roger Roth will discuss the facts of Kagen’s record and show how Kagen’s votes are hurting our state’s economy.
“Let’s look at Mr. Kagen’s record. He voted to increase the amount Washington can borrow by almost $2 trillion and spent more on office expenditures than any other Member of Congress. Will Mr. Kagen take responsibility for the greater debt he agreed to put on the backs of America’s future generations? Kagen’s record: record spending.”
Roth believes that Washington must be honest with the people of Wisconsin.
“While we are concerned with jobs, jobs, jobs… Mr. Kagen and his Washington friends continue to spend, spend and spend. It seems as though this difficult economy only affects tax payers and not tax collectors.”

Appleton, Wis. — Homebuilder, Iraq War veteran, and state Representative Roger Roth announced today that his growing campaign has raised more money than any other Republican running in the primary in the last quarter 2009.
“My travels across the Eighth District have reinforced my beliefs that the people of northeastern Wisconsin desire a leader who will fight for their conservative beliefs and traditional values in Washington.”
Since declaring his candidacy on December 1, 2009, Roth for Congress has received over 200 individual donations from men and women who are concerned about the reckless liberal congress in Washington. In addition hundreds of volunteers have joined his growing campaign to return commonsense government to Washington.
“Washington is a broken record. One of record deficits, record unemployment and record arrogance and mismanagement of the economy.”
